Centre for Food, Resource and Environmental Economics (CFREE)

Welcome to the Centre for Food, Resource and Environmental Economics (CFREE)

Situated at the University of British Columbia, the Centre for Food, Resource and Environmental Economics facilitates collaboration, outreach, and policy development in the Cascadia region and beyond.

Based at the University of British Columbia’s Vancouver campus, the Centre for Food, Resource and Environmental Economics (CFREE) connects researchers from across the Cascadia and Pacific Northwest regions. The Centre’s UBC members include environmental, resource, and food economists from the Faculties of Land & Food Systems, Arts, Applied Science and Forestry, as well as the Sauder School of Business.

CFREE sponsors a bi-weekly Works in Progress (WiP) lunch, as well as coordinates research seminars across the UBC-V campus; upcoming events are advertised on our events page. The Centre’s members publish research that helps policymakers, industry leaders, and academics understand the complex interactions between incentives, policy, and our shared environment.
